Jacqueline Boice Wells

Wells, Jacqueline Boice 06/29/1924 ~ 03/12/2013 POINT LOMA -- Born in Long Beach to Winchell and Marion Boice, Jackie is a granddaughter of C.J. Walker, founder of Farmers and Merchants Bank. A Long Beach Poly graduate, at USC she was student body VP, a Helen of Troy, the senior scroll recipient, an Alpha Epsilon Delta member, and a President of Kappa Alpha Theta. Art and Jackie Wells were long time Point Loma residents and at Art's death had been married for more than 50 years. Jackie served as President of Thursday Club Juniors, Junior League, Women's Auxiliary of Children's Hospital, and San Diego Women's Committee for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Jackie was a founder and charter President for the USC Trojan League of San Diego, later serving as President of the Association of Trojan Leagues. At Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church she served as an Elder, Deacon, and Stephen Minister. Over many years she was the official scorekeeper at Point Loma Little League, Pony and Colt League baseball fields. In her final years, Jackie battled Alzheimer's. She is survived by her sister Joanne Jonas, sons Bill (Janet), Art (Judi) and David (Velma), grand- children: Grace and Julia; Casey, Crews and Bryson; Rachel, Jacob and Seth; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at PLCP Church, May 18th, 11:00. No flowers please, just contribute to fight Alzheimer's.
