TREXEL, JAMES J. James J. Trexel passed away peacefully at home, on January 2, 2013, at the age of 90. Jim is lovingly remembered by his children; Barbara, Don and Lynn; and two grandchildren Todd and P.J. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen. Jim was born on a farm in Boswell, Pennsylvania, on September 12, 1922. He was the youngest of four children. His father died when he was 16 years old. He went on to graduate as Valedictorian of his high school class. He received a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the United States Army in World War II
and received two Bronze Stars
. In Pennsylvania, Jim met his wife Helen, a nurse, and they were married and devoted to each other for 65 years. He spent his 30 year career working for Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware, including a three year assignment in London, England. In 1984, Jim and Helen retired to San Diego, California. Jim enjoyed being active playing golf and bridge throughout his life. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making a personal connection with people. Jim made many wonderful friends over the years. Most importantly, Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was an excellent role model and always provided guidance and support. He taught us the importance of a positive attitude and showed us all the best things in life. Jim will be greatly missed by friends and family who loved, respected, and admired him. Services will be held at the Ascension Catholic Church, 11292 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA 92124 on January 11, 2013, at 10 a.m.
