King, June Ann SAN DIEGO -- June Ann King passed away on September 22, 2013, at her home at the age of 84. June was born in the small town of Perry in western New York State on June 1, 1929, and moved to Buffalo, New York, where she attended grammar school. June's family moved to San Diego at the age of 11 in 1940 where she spent the rest of her life. June attended Roosevelt Jr. High and graduated from San Diego High in 1947. After high school, June went on to be an Assistant Librarian for the San Diego Public Library. In 1952, June married the love of her life, Joseph J. King, and they remained together for 52 years, before his passing in 2004. June is survived by her four sons, Glenn King of Fremont, Ca., Victor King of La Mesa, Philip King and Roger King, both of San Diego, and her six wonderful grandchildren. June was an avid reader, enjoyed movies and loved Greek folk dancing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. June will be remembered by all who knew her and will be dearly missed by her best friend of 83 years, Gertrude Butikofer of Chula Vista, Ca.
