KATHLEEN BELLOWS

BELLOWS, KATHLEEN Aug. 25, 1945 to Feb. 15, 2013 Kathleen Krug Bellows passed away Friday after a years-long battle with breast cancer. Born in Portland, Oregon to George Krug and Pat MacMillan, Kathy was raised in Cannon Beach, playing in the tide-pools around Haystack Rock where her grandmother was a local artist. Moving to Phoenix, AZ during high school, she met and married Rick in 1963, and moved to Los Angeles to start a family. She began her art studies where seascape and still life dominated her early style. Throughout her life she enjoyed travel, gardening, art, concerts at the bay, and spending time with her family. In 2008 she began a collection of paintings as a whimsical figurative design of sisters and girlfriends in colorful hair and costumes. She was a member of the Ramona Art Guild and San Diego Visual Arts Network. Her galley is at: www.kathleenkbellows.com Kathleen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, and underwent hormone and chemotherapy until 2012. Final assistance was provided by The Elizabeth Hospice. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Kathleen Bellows is survived by Rick, her husband of 50 years; two sons: Rick Jr, Joshua (Lisa), five daughters: Billie Sue Mitchell (Tim), Wendy Smith (Greg), Heather Wride (Brent), Geraldine Barrows (Brad), Amanda Bryfogle (Vance); 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Memorial service February 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., at the Ramona ward building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
