Mary McDonald Obituary

McDonald, Mary Patricia "Pat" 03/08/1932 ~ 07/24/2014 Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. OCEANSIDE -- Pat began her life in Chicago, IL as the sixth child of Edward and Frances Roden. Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1947, where she flourished for the next 47 years. She worked as an editor until she met and married William Wineman (Bill) McDonald in 1953, and bore him four children: Brian, Karen, Mary, and Michelle, who prospered in Westchester, CA. After her children left the nest and Bill retired, they relocated to Oceanside in 1994. In her new home, Pat pursued her interests in politics, education, and investing, making many dear friends along the way. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; and is survived by her four loving children and their families: Brian and Linda McDonald, Karen and William Woodman, Mary McDonald, and Michelle and John Stafford, their daughter Hillary and son Andrew, his wife Diana, and their son Peter (Pat's only great-grandchild). Pat is also survived by her brother, Bill Roden; her sister, Jean LaMacchia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held.
