Wimer, Nancy Ann Mason POINT LOMA -- Nancy Ann Mason Wimer passed away on July 2, 2013, at the age of 81. A longtime San Diego resident, she was born on May 2, 1932, in Phoenix, Arizona, and was raised in Helena, Montana. She attended the University of Southern California where she met her future husband, Warren Gayne Wimer. They married in 1953 and settled in San Diego where Gayne became a prominent local architect. She gave birth to three sons, Michael Gayne (Patricia), Stuart Layne (Maria) and Martin Kelly (Cindy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren Blake Wimer, Clark Jay Wimer, Murphy Brown Wimer, Ian Michael Wimer, Jason Wimer, Tony Trejo, and Loretta Linden. She was preceded in death by her husband Gayne who passed in 2006. A talented artist, Nancy was known for her toll painting. Her imaginative and often whimsical creations were highly sought after in the Point Loma neighborhood where she lived with her husband and children for over 50 years. She will be remembered for her generosity and her devotion to her family and friends. Services will be held at El Camino Memorial Park on July 19th at 2:45 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place directly afterward at the home of Stuart and Maria Wimer (2240 Etiwanda San Diego 92107). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the San Diego Humane Society.
