STEPHENS, NANCY Nancy Stephens of Clairemont died at home with family at her side, of heart failure on January 27, 2013. She was born Nancy Vane Day in Kansas City MO on December 3, 1920 to Vane Sumner and Ellen Fisher Day. She has two sisters, Dorothy May in Missouri; and Mary Day King of Rancho Bernardo. In 1942, she married Kentuckian, Martin Stephens who preceded her in death. Surviving are their three daughters: Mary Ellen Williams of Greenfield; Anna Clare Koonce, Julian; and Patti Sue Trice, San Diego. She leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The Stephens family moved to San Diego in 1957. Nancy worked for the Community College District, transferring to UCSD in 1970 where she retired in 1983 as an undergraduate admissions officer. She was a member of the Methodist Church, UCSD Retirement Assn., and San Diego Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, a past Regent. Private memorial services are pending.
