Patrick Bloomer

Patrick Bloomer, 99 VISTA -- Patrick Bloomer passed away at home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. He was born in Dungannon, Ireland on December 8, 1911. Patrick immigrated to the US in 1922 with his mother and brother. During an adventurous life, he was a truck driver, owned a moving company, was involved in early labor organizing, owned a ranch in Oklahoma, served in the US Army during WWII, supported the Berlin airlift and early rocket test flights. He retired from the Civil Service after 35 years. Patrick lived in Fallbrook since moving here in 1960 and building a house on Constant Creek Road. At one time, he owned Fallbrook Toy and Cycle downtown. He was active in the Boy Scouts and the 4-H in support of his children. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (1986); and daughter, Mary Ellen (1988). He is survived by his sons, Christopher Bloomer of Fallbrook, and Patrick Bloomer of Kingwood, Texas. Patrick's family wishes to thank all of his many friends and caregivers for all their support and love. There will be a visitation at Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary, 333 North Vine Street, Fallbrook between 4 and 8 p.m., on Thursday, March 31.
