ROBERT F. KURZ

KURZ, ROBERT F. Dec. 3, 1925 to Feb. 23, 2013 Robert (Bob) was born in Brooklyn, NY. He met his future wife Jeanette when they were just 17. He joined the Navy just before turning 18 and served in the Pacific during World War II and in the Korean War. In 1948 he and Jeanette married, honeymooned in Cuba and moved to Massapequa Park, NY, where they raised four children. Bob spent his career with the NY Telephone Co. In 1978 they spent a year living and working in Iran. Travel was a passion and he spent a year touring Europe in a VW camper and continued to travel around the world until recent years. He was very active in the Sons of Norway organization. He was also an avid philatelist (stamp collector) since childhood. He was very happy to live near his family in San Diego and enjoyed many beach picnics and family gatherings. Bob Kurz passed away peacefully at home, just a year after his beloved wife Jeanette passed. He is survived by his sons, Roy Kurz (Sharon) and Ronald Kurz (Lilla), his daughters, Juliane Rosen (Robert) and Janet Weber (Dean), seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister Harriet. Memorial: March 9, 11:00 a.m. at Penasquitos Lutheran Church, 14484 Penasquitos Drive, San Diego, CA 92129.
