Foster, Robert H. SAN DIEGO-- Robert "Bob" Foster was born on March 18, 1933 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Robert and Beverly (Perry) Foster. Bob peacefully passed away on December 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Bob enlisted in the United States Navy
at age seventeen, specializing in damage control. He served during the Korean and Vietnam War
s and retired in 1981 as a Chief Petty Officer. He received numerous decorations for his outstanding military service. In 1955, Bob married Patricia Gail Fosmire, of Gloversville, New York. Bob and Pat were married for fifty-eight years and had four children; Robert W. Foster (deceased), Richard W. Foster, Kerrie E. Knight and John F. Foster. He is survived by four grandchildren; Ty and Amber Knight, Chris and Patricia Foster, and a great grandson, Jared Foster. He is also survived by his sisters Joyce (Foster) O'Malley of Westford MA, Carol (Foster) Wheaton of Merrimac, NH and Betty (Foster) Regan of Wilmington, MA and several nieces and nephews. Bob loved animals and frequently visited the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Sea World. Although he chose to retire in San Diego, he remained loyal to his hometown of Boston, the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. It was a dream come true for him to see the Boston Red Sox win the World Series in 2013. Bob will be inurned at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California where he will join his eldest son, Robert W. Foster.
