Robert "Bob" Reid

Reid, Robert "Bob" ESCONDIDO/ OCEANSIDE -- Robert "Bob" Reid, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, after having had a great time RVing with friends on Lake Hemet. He was born in Escondido and lived out his life there and in nearby Oceanside, with his second wife, Helen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma. While still 17, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy in World War II. His ships were the USS Hobby and the USS Newcomb. He received the purple heart for his bravery and service. Bob was a lover of life, knowing his life could have been lost at an early age. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting and the great outdoors. He worked hard and in retirement, was always ready to see what needed to be fixed and was up for the job. He was loved by his family as a true patriarch. Besides his wife, Helen, he is survived by three children, Sheryl, Laura (Leilah), and Alan; and his step-children, Frank and Connie; as well as six grandchildren, Kelly, David, Julie, Paul, Tulsi and Yasmine; and his great-grandchildren, Sam, Max, Kate, Lukas, Michael, Madison, Sahara, and Nalu.
