Rose Marie Henkel

Henkel, Rose Marie 05/31/1946 - 03/01/2013 SAN DIEGO -- Rose was born to Paul Joseph McAlpine and Hazel Marie McAlpine on May 31, 1946 in Lynwyn, West Virginia. Rose was raised with five brothers and learned at an early age how to be independent and accountable. In 1964 Rose graduated from Stoco High School in Coal City, West Virginia. She grew to be a wonderful woman with a very loving heart and warm smile. She moved to California in 1969 and became a homemaker. She also worked odd jobs from housekeeping to care giving. Care giving seemed to be the one that suited her best because she was big on comfort and care. Rose met her husband, Tommy in 1987 and after a long courtship, they married in October 2001. A very happy day for family and friends. Tommy and Rose traveled around San Diego County and visited camp grounds from the beach to the Anza Borrego desert. A couple of cruises to the Mexican Riviera and a few trips to Las Vegas were always a good time. Home is where the heart is and that is where a lot of time was spent. Rose was predeceased by her parents Paul and Hazel McAlpine and two brothers, Charles and Thomas McAlpine. Rose is survived by her husband Tommy and brothers Barney, Frank and "PJ" McAlpine and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. Call Tommy for details and directions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the at www.lung.org and hit the donate button in the top right corner.
