HUNTER, SCOTT "SCOTTY" M. Oct. 25, 1957 to Nov. 13, 2012 A native of San Diego and resident of Point Loma, Scotty passed away at his home after a long and valiant fight with cancer. He was a Landscape Architect, Nurseryman and Plants-man throughout his life. His start in the Nursery business began under his father's tutelage at Rancho Soledad Nurseries, the family owned business. His construction acumen and exceptional abilities as a plantsman helped shape Rancho Soledad, and his influence can be seen throughout the Nursery today. Scotty loved the ocean and was a waterman of the highest order. He shaped his own surfboards and charged the biggest waves he could find in Hawaii, Mexico and the California coast. When he wasn't surfing, he could be found scuba diving, spearfishing or boating, fishing pole in hand. He is survived by his wife Tamara, daughter Crystal Marie Ross, mother Peggy Hunter, sisters Heather Hunter May and Dawn Hunter Clark and two beautiful grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A ceremony, paddle-out at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego will be held December 28th. Contact, (619) 838-5443, for details.
