Sharon Grace Decker Baker

Baker, Sharon Grace Decker SAN DIEGO -- Sharon Grace Decker Baker of San Diego, California, was born on January 28, 1948 to Darrell and Linda Decker of San Diego, California. Sharon lived in San Diego all of her life where she attended elementary, junior high and senior high school graduating from Madison High School in 1964. Sharon worked in several positions during her working career, including Office Manager for an electronics firm, Classroom Assistant at San Diego City schools, Cashier at the Navy Exchange Cash Office and Human Resources Specialist at Levitz Furniture. Sharon was active in several Masonic related organizations, including the International Order of Rainbow for girls and the California Order of the Eastern Star for Men and Women. She was also an active supporter of the Al Bahr Shrine Drum & Bugle Corp for many years. Sharon was married to her husband, Don Baker for 34 years and, together, raised three wonderful children: Timothy Aaron, Dennis Duane and Leah Denise. Following a long five and a half year fight, Sharon succumbed to the ravages of lung cancer and complications arising out of her final hospitalization. Sharon slipped peacefully from this world at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Darrell and her mother, Linda. She is survived by her husband, Don Baker of San Diego, CA; her son, Timothy Aaron Baker of Valencia, CA; her daughter, Leah Denise Hunter of San Diego, CA; her son Dennis Duane Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her sister, Sandra Gould of Poway, CA.; and her brother, Robert Decker of Fallbrook, CA. Sharon was also a very proud Grandmother boasting of seven grandchildren: Jessica Erin Baker of Seattle, WA; Cecilia Naomi Hunter of San Diego, CA; Caitlin Baker of Saugus, CA; Ryan Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Garet Hunter of San Diego, CA; Daniel Baker of Saugus , CA and Addison Grace Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Sharon's beauty and grace greatly enhanced our lives while here on earth and now her light shines brightly in the heavens. Funeral service on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Clairemont Lutheran Church.
