Thomson, Sherry M. RANCHO SANTA FE-- Sherry was born in Provo, Utah, on June 23, 1928. She briefly attended BYU before moving to Salt Lake City, where she landed a job offered by her future father-in-law. There she met the love of her life, J. Richard Thomson (Dick). They soon married and began a family. After Dick's graduation, the family moved to San Diego, La Jolla in 1960, and then retired to Ranch Santa Fe. Sherry actively helped Dick establish his first pharmacy in Lemon Grove and was a loving and energetic mother to her children. Sherry had many interests including, landscaping, travel, nature, wilderness adventures and skiing. She earned a private pilot's license and did volunteer work at the Birch Aquarium and the Museum of Natural History. As a designer she worked on projects in the beach area and Cal a Vie Spa. On August 12, 2013, Sherry peacefully passed away. She is survived and loved by sons Ryan and Richard (Sharon), grandchildren Sean, Shannon and Brennish, brother Melvin Snow, sister Phylis Barker and predeceased by her sister, Carol Lee Missey. After 59 years of marriage Dick and Sherry have been interred together at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
