Teresa Buono De Santi-Jakubas

De Santi-Jakubas, Teresa Buono SAN DIEGO -- Teresa Buono De Santi-Jakubas, born May 27, 1924, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2013. She was a native San Diegan born to Angelina (Musacco) and Frank Buono and the stepdaughter of Julia Buono. She was the loving wife of Francois Jakubas since 1993. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph De Santi, of 43 years, and their infant son Mark, her sister Conjet Marino and brothers Dominick, Pat, and Frank. She is survived by her sisters Rose Ybarra and Lena Valenti, son Leonard (Jennifer), daughters Jovanna Alioa (Daniel), and Monica De Santi, grandchildren Michael, Stephanie and Brandon, step-grandchild Anthony (Diane) and step-great- grandchildren Kiersten and Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed a career working as an office manager for plastic surgeons while raising her family. Proud of her Italian heritage, she was active with the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park, and instrumental in the restoration and preservation of San Diego's "Little Italy". For her efforts to expand the Italian Culture in America, she was Knighted by the Italian Government. She dearly loved her extensive family and will be fondly remembered for her fabulous Italian culinary skills and the huge fun loving holiday parties she hosted. Funeral Services: April 3, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with a Celebration of Life following.
