Goff, Theodore Laurence CHULA VISTA -- Ted finally gets his own obituary after reading them daily to make sure he was still alive! He passed away July 14, 2013 at home in Chula Vista after battling lymphoma for 22 years. He was almost 83. Ted was born in San Diego on July 31, 1930, the youngest son of Zara Alvin and Vesta Goff. He grew up on the family ranch in Japatul Valley, and was the graduating class of the local one room school. He attended Army
and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, S.D.S.U. for a BA and Master's in History, and got his doctorate in education from U.C.L.A
. He served in the army for two years, stationed in Japan, and was a teacher, principal and bilingual coordinator in Chula Vista for 32 years. He was a man of many passions, including reading, music, and travel, but his greatest love was for his family. His wife, Rosie, was the love of his life. They were inseparable for over 61 years. He said his family was his greatest achievement, and he passes his legacy on to Rosie and their three children, Emily, James, and David, nine grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Chula Vista.
