Henderson, Walter L. Jr. SAN DIEGO, CA -- Walter L. Henderson Jr., 84, 2nd generation Chula Vistan, passed peacefully at his La Mesa home on January 11, accompanied by the surviving children from his marriage to Carolyn Luckenbach. A Business graduate of SDSU, he served stateside as a Marine. He then applied his rugged determination and leadership skills to Banking and the Secondary Market, eventually serving on the Federal Reserve Board and helping found Freddie Mac with Congress in the 1980s. He dedicated his career to serving his country and city, having a real love for San Diego inherited from his forebears G.L. Henderson and E.J. Melville, both bankers, naturalists and pioneers in San Diego as well as Yellowstone Nat'l Park. The Memorial is at Glen Abbey's Chapel of Roses, February 1 at 1:00 p.m. His ashes will be placed with those of his ancestors at Greenwood Memorial Park. Bon Voyage Walt!
