Dr. William G. Grundon(1933 - 2013)

Grundon, Dr. William G. 05/27/1933 ~ 03/18/2013 SAN DIEGO -- Bill passed away on March 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif. After graduating from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC in 1960, Bill took his internship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He returned to California to take a medical residency at Wadsworth VA Hospital in Los Angeles. He was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, an honor medical society. During the Vietnam War, Bill was a Lt. Commander in the US Navy, serving as a physician in Okinawa. Except for brief periods of medical practice in Central California, Bill practiced mainly in the San Diego area. During Bill's medical career and after retiring, he and his wife, Rosalie, spent free time pursuing their hobby of back packing in the High Sierras, including climbing Mt. Whitney with their family. Bill is survived by his wife, Rosalie; his children, Steven and Michael; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
