Romo, William John 07/22/1931 ~ 02/09/2014 SAN DIEGO -- William "Bill" Romo was a grandfather, father, husband, companion, friend, and a genuine person. He was a Marine at heart. Bill was a Korean war
veteran whom served a period of four years in the United States Marine Corps
. During his tour of duty, he was given several citations and awards for his conduct while serving for his country. These include: Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Bill had a strong work ethic, was very pragmatic, and had a tremendous sense of duty. Following his military commitment, Bill became a skilled auto mechanic. He worked over 40 years in the automotive industry, dedicating his time and effort ensuring that his customers were given the upmost in service. Bill also spent time with friends in the San Diego Roadster's Club as well as the Tappets Car Club. Juxtaposed to Bill's professional accomplishments, his true love and life-long dedication was to his family. His enduring care and commitment to his wife and children instilled confidence, assurance, and well-being. Bill had a genuine concern for everyone he met and in every task he engaged in. Bill is survived by his wife, Rose; sons, John and Anthony; and granddaughters, Chelsea and Audrey; as well as great-granddaughter, Mia Rose. We love you, Grandpa, Dad- You will be missed deeply and be forever in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 23rd at El Camino Mortuary at 2 p.m. Funeral services will held on Monday, February 24th at San Rafael Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial services will be held Monday, February 24th at Miramar National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
