Bette Elynn Hom Obituary
Hom, Bette Elynn SNOHOMISH, WA -- Bette Elynn Hom, 80, died Friday, March 1, 2013, in Snohomish, WA with her loving family by her side. Bette was born July 24, 1932, in Holt County, MO. Her parents Howard and Edith Curtis and her brothers Carl, Greg and Gary preceded her in death. Bette lived in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois before moving to San Diego in 1964. Bette spent her life as an entrepreneur; she owned restaurants in San Diego, CA, Marshalltown, IA, Urbana and Hoopeston, IL. Bette was married to Wendell Hom, who owned Hom's Tea Pot Inn, in Chula Vista. Bette was always present at the Tea Pot and she could be found graciously greeting and welcoming customers to the restaurant. During that time period Bette was very active in the community and charitable events. Bette is survived by four children, Connie Siderius, Snohomish, WA; Randy Wong, Monroe, WA; Deborah Abrahams, Cumming, IA; and Stephen Hutson, El Cajon, CA. She is also survived by her brother Alan Curtis, Des Moines, IA, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate Bette's life will be held in Snohomish, WA, on March 24, 2013.
