Bonnie H. Hyndman Obituary
Hyndman, Bonnie H. 01/01/1915 ~ 07/10/2013 ENCINITAS -- Bonnie H. Hyndman passed away peacefully at age 98 on July 10, 2013, in Encinitas, CA, four months after the passing of her beloved husband of 73 years, Pat Hyndman. Theirs was a true love story. A fourth generation native Californian, Bonnie graduated from UC Berkeley and lived the last 60 years of her life in San Diego. Known for her Irish blue eyes and sweetness, her many artistic talents found expression in music, painting and design. Possessed of a beautiful lyric soprano voice, she started her training at the Carnegie Music Hall Academy and performed in chorales, churches and theatre as a soloist singing opera arias, sacred songs, and madrigals at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. She played the Irish harp, for which she composed original songs, published five popular books of harp music arranged for students, and taught lessons for many years. As a visual artist and designer she enjoyed painting, and sewed theatre costumes and clothes. Bonnie designed the family Christmas cards by hand every year. With her husband, Pat, she enjoyed travel to all corners of the world. She is survived by her daughter Janet, son James, grandson Mark, also survived by a loving extended family of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and lifelong friends. A memorial will be held July 27, 2013, 1:00 p.m., Trotter Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 2111Camino Del Rio S., San Diego. As Bonnie was a deep lover of animals, donations may be sent to an animal support organization of your choice.
