Brett Aleshire Obituary
Brett Aleshire, 50 SAN MARCOS -- Brett Aleshire died Sunday, February 5, 2012 when his pickup truck failed to execute a sharp turn and struck an unoccupied house. The accident happened near his home in San Marcos, Calif., at approximately 3:30 pm while on his way to a Super Bowl party at his parents home in Hidden Meadows, north of Escondido, Calif. Brett, unmarried, was born July 23, 1961 at Palomar Hospital in Escondido. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Merle J. Aleshire and Dorothy Ann Aleshire; his older brother, Benton Aleshire of Poulsbo, Wash.; a younger brother, Barron of Morro Bay, Calif.; two nieces, Brittany Aleshire of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Kaylan Aleshire, Breckinridge, Colo.; and his ever faithful hunting partner, a yellow lab named Buddy. As a youngster, he was active in the Boy Scouts, Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. He graduated from Escondido High School in 1979 where he excelled at Soccer. He attended Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and then entered the plumbing profession. He was an ardent Chargers fan and loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping until he was diagnosed with cardio- pulmonary hypertension, in December 2006. Prior to that, he always reserved a camping spot for a week in the summer at the San Elijo State Beach, Encinitas, Calif., where he would surf, fish, free-dive and entertain his many friends. His body will be cremated and his interment is being arranged. A memorial service is being planned in the near future. Sign the Guest Book online
