Charles D. Cason Obituary
Cason, Charles D. SAN DIEGO -- Native San Diegan born at Mercy Hospital on January 27, 1939 to Clarence and Alberta Cason. Chuck courageously fought COPD and cancer. He lost his battle at 74, passing at Grossmont Hospital on July 25, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. He loved and cherished his family, friends and pets. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Darlene (Pierceall), daughters, Cheri Cason, San Diego and Cynthia Falk (C.T. Falk, son-in-law), Costa Mesa and four grandsons, Ti, Justin, Hunter and Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother and sister. They met at Hoover High and were high school sweethearts. He joined the USAF serving honorably for 8 years. They were married on July 28, 1962. They returned to San Diego in 1965. He graduated from Grossmont College. His career was in finance and insurance. He opened The Bike Pedal'r in San Carlos in the 70s. He loved the beach, mountains and deserts and enjoyed camping, RVing, cruising, playing cards, being in Rosarito at their beach house and RV space in Palm Springs. He was thrilled with their 50th Wedding Anniversary party in July 2012. He will be dearly missed for his integrity, honesty, smile, special wink, teasing and joking (Is he telling the truth or pulling our leg?). A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2766 Navajo Road, El Cajon, CA, Friday, August 30 at 11a.m., a reception to follow. Inurnment, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, September 9th. Donations to are suggested.
