LINDEMAN, DONALD ADAM January 28, 1947 to February 14, 2013 Donald Lindeman of Escondido, CA died peacefully at Naval Medical Center San Diego after a heroic five year battle with cancer. Born in Hazleton Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Adam L. and Anna (Benyo) Lindeman. Don joined the Navy in 1964 shortly after graduation. He flew all over the world and had approximately 4,000 flight hours in C-118, and C-130 aircraft. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1984. After his Navy career, Don remained in the San Diego area where he worked for Cubic Defense Systems and ViaSat until his retirement in July 2009. Don enjoyed all things technical, but especially loved private flying, cars, and Amateur Radio. Don is survived by his wife, Roslyn (Pachence) Lindeman, former Director of Civilian Nursing Affairs, Naval Medical Center San Diego, their son Mark, daughter-in-law Desiree, and grandson Brandon. Mark and his family are currently living in Westerville, Ohio. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel and Thomas Lindeman and several nieces and nephews. A proud and distinguished Navy Veteran of 20 years, Don will be buried with full military honors. His remains will be interned at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma, CA, overlooking the North Island Naval Air Station where he retired from active duty in 1984. "Celebration of Life" ceremonies will be held on both the East and West Coasts.
