Obituary Condolences

Bruha, Edison Coburn SAN DIEGO -- Born July 8, 1919, in Duluth, Minnesota, moved to San Diego with his family in 1924. A graduate of Hoover High School in 1937, he attended San Diego State College prior to working at Convair. Ed married Edith Storms on May 31, 1940. Served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Joined the San Diego County Sheriff's Department in 1949, retiring as a lieutenant in 1976. Continued working until 1988 as security during the County Fair and Del Mar racing season. Volunteered for 27 years at the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater. After Edith's death, he married Betty Jean Hemeren on June 18, 1988. He earned his Bronze Life Masters in duplicate bridge, traveled worldwide, and played golf. Ed is survived by his wife Betty Jean, two daughters, a stepdaughter, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 5075 Campanile Dr., San Diego, on Saturday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Faith Presbyterian.
