Freeman, Edward 10/25/1928 ~ 08/18/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Born in Norwich, Connecticut on October 25, 1928. Ed was preceded in death by his first wife Leah Phillips, mother Eva Annie, father Dr. Albert, sister Alberta and brothers Emerson and Lucian. A graduate of Norwich Free Academy and Boston University, Ed served with the U.S. Army in Italy on occupation duty 1946 to 1947. In 1952 Ed moved to California, relocating to San Diego in 1958. He worked in human resources for 30 years at the Convair division of General Dynamics, retiring in 1989. Ed was an active member at University Christian Church where he met his wife Anne. The two married there in 1971. They have two sons born to Leah and raised by Anne and Ed. He feels he had a great life, great parents and siblings, two wonderful wives, the best sons, Scott (Tracy) and Mark (Jenny), one could ever expect to have and good friends. He and Anne enjoyed their retirement years traveling throughout North America in their motorhome exploring and visiting friends and family. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at University Christian Church Saturday, August 23, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to University Christian Church, 3900 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103.
