Edwin Raymond Cunningham Obituary
Cunningham, Edwin Raymond 11/18/1922 - 03/25/2013 EL CAJON -- Ray was a strong man. He was born to John and Ottilie Cunningham over 90 years ago. He lived his whole life in El Cajon, California. A short time after graduating from high school, he went to work for Consolidated Aircraft until 1942. He served his country with honor in WWII as an officer and pilot, receiving the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He was proud to take over the family ranch as an orange grower after returning from the war. He was a bright man that had a vast knowledge of just about everything. He could tell stories that were so vivid and clear. There were so many stories and each new one was treasured. His wife Cathy waited in heaven for him since 1995. Her children John, Kelley and Kathy Ann were raised as his own and he loved them deeply. He leaves behind his son Edwin Raymond Jr. to uphold his values and beliefs and tell his stories to his grandchildren Byron and Pierce Cunningham and Katie and Hannah Kitchenka. He will be greatly missed by all. Services to be held at the El Cajon Cemetery on April 5, 2013 at 2 p.m.
