HORACIO M. AGUILAR

AGUILAR, HORACIO M. Jan. 18, 1933 to Jan. 18, 2013 Horacio, our beloved father and patriarch of the Aguilar family, on his 80th birthday, went home to be with the Lord and "Juanita," his wife of 51 years. He was a longtime resident of Imperial Beach. He was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Luis and Lucia Aguilar. He is survived by his children, Luis, Alma, Maria, John, and daughter-in-law Cherin; three grandchildren, Shawn, Nicholas, and Jacob, all from San Diego along with a large extended family in Mexico. A devoted, loving husband and father - his family always came first and he embraced life with a sense of humor. He enjoyed reading about the history of Mexico, spending time with his family, and writing his memoir during his later years. As a young man in Mexico, Horacio became a skilled equestrian, rancher and charro. He was the founder/owner of H.A. Automotive Equipment servicing San Diego and Tijuana. A parishioner of St. Charles Parish, he was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, a group led by his wife for 17 years. Viewing and rosary will be held Wednesday, January 23rd, from 5-9 p.m. (rosary 7 p.m.) at the Little Chapel of the Roses, Glen Abbey, Bonita. A requiem mass will be held on Friday, January 25th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in I.B. with interment services at Glen Abbey. A reception will follow at St. Charles Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Juana and Horacio Aguilar Scholarship Fund at St. Charles Elementary School in Imperial Beach or Mater Dei High School in Chula Vista.
