JACK EBERHARDT DAMSON Obituary
DAMSON, JACK EBERHARDT Jack Eberhardt Damson, 71, who lived in San Diego (Pt. Loma) for some 40 years, passed away on February 9, 2013, from Alzheimer's. Jack, a native of Holland, Michigan, received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Michigan State University where he was a member and co-captain of the Men's Varsity Tennis Team. He received his Master's in Public Health from the University of Michigan. He began his career in Washington, D.C., as Director of the Respiratory Disease Program of the American Lung Association. He later became a special consultant to the National American Lung Association in New York City. For 30 years, Jack served as President and CEO of the American Lung Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties. While in this position, he was instrumental in helping to create the AFC Half Marathon. A special thanks is extended to the administrator and attendants of BayView Senior Living in Pt. Loma where he spent the last year of his life. Appreciation is also expressed to Silverado Hospice. Jack is survived by his wife, Donna Damson, sister, Sally Mattmueller, brother, Tom Damson, and niece, kathy Mattmueller (Randey).
