Jane Brooks McNulty Obituary
McNulty, Jane Brooks SAN DIEGO -- Our amazing Jane passed away on September 7, 2013, at the age of 84. Jane Brooks McNulty was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1928 and lived in both Palm Springs and San Diego for the past 25 years. She was a graduate of the College of William and Mary, and earned her MA from Cal State Los Angeles. Our "fashionista", Jane hosted her own TV show in the early 1950's called "Room to Groom", had an exciting career as a high fashion model in New York, Maryland and Virginia, and was crowned Queen of the Chesapeake in 1949. Jane was a dedicated high school teacher for 22 years in Duarte, California, and upon retiring, moved to Point Loma and sold real estate. She was fortunate to travel all over the world with her friends and lived a colorful life. Jane was respected and loved by all who knew her. She was a giver and a nurturer. She devoted many years to helping the Salvation Army and her church. Her kind, intelligent influence was extensive and her impact on others was significant. Jane is survived by her children Lisa Mendiola (Francisco), David McNulty (Beverly), Barron McNulty Jr. (Mary), Kelly Lane (Timothy), as well as twelve grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. There will be a memorial mass for Jane on Monday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church.
