Obituary Condolences

WOOLDRIDGE, JOSH Nov. 22, 1922 to Dec. 26, 2012 Josh Wooldridge, beloved husband of LaVerne Wooldridge, passed away December 26, 2012, at the age of 90. His wife was by his side. Josh was born in Pico Canyon (historic Mentryville) just west of Newhall, California, on November 2, 1922. Fond memories of his childhood in Pico Canyon include starting school in a one room schoolhouse and graduating from San Fernando High. Josh enlisted in the Navy at the beginning of World War ll (February 1942) serving in the South Pacific. Discharged in 1946, he settled in the Los Angeles area and received his BA from Woodbury College. He was a CPA in Los Angeles for 10 years, meeting his wife LaVerne while working at Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). They were married in 1954 and shared 58 wonderful years together. The couple moved to San Diego in 1957 when Josh joined Ryan Aeronautical Co. as Controller then Financial Vice President. In 1969, Teledyne acquired Ryan Aeronautical and he became a Vice President of Teledyne. He was a member of the CPA Society, Financial Executives Institute, and National Association of Accountants. While President of NAA in 1960-1961, the Chapter was awarded the Remington Rand Trophy. An avid fisherman, Josh enjoyed fishing from his own boats as well as Fisherman's Landing and Seaforth. He was a member of the Marlin Club. Josh is survived by his wife LaVerne and 29 nieces and nephews.
