Linda Glaser Pomplun

1951 - 2015

Pomplun, Linda Glaser SAN DIEGO -- Linda Glaser Pomplun, a native and lifelong resident of San Diego, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2015 surrounded by loving family after a valiant fight against cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 38 years, Edwin John Pomplun and cherished sons, Kevin Adam Pomplun of Palo Alto, CA and Kyle Aaron Pomplun of Scottsdale, AZ. She was born on July 16, 1951 and was the beloved daughter of Betty Glaser of San Diego and the late Max Glaser. In addition to her husband and two sons, she is survived by her dear sister, Joni (Rich) Miller of San Diego and her brother, Dennis (Linda Katzman) Glaser of San Diego.
Linda grew up in Point Loma and attended schools in the community until her senior year. Upon graduation from Crawford High School, Linda went on to graduate from SDSU with a BA in Education. After a short stint in teaching, she prospered in banking where she met Ed, and they married in September 1976. She worked for almost two decades as a project coordinator in real estate investments. Linda then passionately pursued a second career in fitness and personal training, which she practiced up until a month before she passed away. She loved to travel and enjoyed many domestic and international trips with her sister, niece, and friends. Linda's greatest joy came from her large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Paul (Deal) Pomplun of Inverness, IL; Mark (Beverlee) Pomplun of Hoschton, GA; Debra (Ken) Michnal of Las Vegas, NV; and Sandy (Tom) Hoklas of Grand Prairie, TX. She was also a dog lover and mourned the loss of the family's pet, Gabe, a few years ago. Linda was a loving and supportive wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She nurtured each of her two sons with incredible love and compassion, always thinking of what was best for them. She loved her family in so many ways, and words cannot express the joy she brought to her family and to the many lives she touched. She will be greatly missed, yet wonderful memories of her gentle, kind spirit and bright smile will always remain in our minds and hearts. A memorial service was held at El Camino Mortuary on Tuesday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jewish Family Service of San Diego.
