Louise G. Harbin Obituary

Harbin, Louise G. OCEANSIDE -- Louise Harbin, 90, passed away on November 21, 2012. She was born June 23, 1922 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of Albert and Venus Holder. Louise graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane, Washington, and attended Whitworth College where she received a B.A. in Business Administration. Louise served in the United States Marine Corps Women Reserves from June 1943 to 1945 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. She was a stay at home mother and military spouse for 50 years. She was a life member of Women Marine's Association as well as a life member of the Local CA-7, Edith Macias Vann Chapter of the Women Marine's Association. She was also a spouse member of the Marine Corps Sergeants Major Association. Louise loved bowling and card games. She enjoyed theater and social gatherings. Louise was a strong women, with a personality to match. She had battled aggressive cancer and won, and cherished each additional day she was given on this earth. Louise had a huge heart for those she called cherished friends. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harbin, Retired Marine Corps Sergeant Major. She is survived by her sons, Craig and Greg Harbin; and grandson, Dean Harbin, and their families. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Fairwinds Ivy Ranch Senior Living, 4490 Mesa Dr., Oceanside, CA. 760-439-8090.
