HULLA, MARJORIE July 1, 1921 to June 12, 2012 Marjorie Jane Chrisler Hulla was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 1, 1921 to Clarence and Gertrude Chrisler. She was an avid gardener, prolific reader, accomplished crafter and needleworker, all of which she loved sharing with her family and friends. World travel was a passion of Marjorie's. Throughout her life she was actively involved in her church activities: St. Mary's Mr. and Mrs. Club and entertainment chairman, Altar and Rose Society, PTA, CCD instructor, 7th and 8th grade art teacher and Mary Magdalene Circle. An active member of the Girl Scouts of America, Marjorie served as a leader for 15 years. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School, Chicago, IL, in 1937 and attended Northwestern University, IL, where she met her future husband, Edward Hulla. Her employment included secretarial and general office work at Wilson Sporting Goods, Chicago, IL, Del-Mar Products, Denver, CO, and doctors' offices in Englewood, CO. On December 7, 1945, she married Edward Leo Hulla, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his death in January, 2009. Together they raised six children; their son Mark Hulla preceded them in death. Their surviving children are Laurel Brower (William Brower), David Hulla, Nancy Alcorn (Joe Alcorn), Donald Hulla (Lisa Hulla) and Christopher Hulla (Barbara Mediavilla). Her grandchildren are Andrew Brower, Joshua Alcorn (Amanda Alcorn), Nathan Alcorn (Sarah Alcorn), Rebekah Baldwin (Daniel Baldwin), Matthew Alcorn (Elizabeth Alcorn), Amber Hulla, Courtney Hulla, Jennifer Jordan (Jeremy Jordan) and Stephanie White. Marjorie's great-grandchildren are Ashlynn and Kaleia Jordan. Memorial mass will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, 1945 Illion, San Diego, CA, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA.
