RONALD GORDON SONNIKSEN Obituary
SONNIKSEN, RONALD GORDON Retired Navy Commander Retired Navy Commander Ronald Gordon Sonniksen took his final flight on December 7, 2012. He was a native of California. He is survived by two sons, Wayne and daughter-in-law Trina Sonniksen and Christopher, and one daughter Katrina; in addition, two granddaughters Michelle and Shannon, two grandsons Calvin and Jacob, his son-in-law Bill Jones and his second wife and good friend Florence Young Sonniksen. He was a strong, loving father that was fair minded and very generous. He was also a caring and devoted husband as well as a man of his word. He gave 26 years of his life serving the country in the United States Navy and upon retirement became a successful realtor who owned four Century 21 offices. The positions he held represent the qualities and caliber of the person he was. Ron will be forever missed by his family and friends and all those whose lives were enhanced by his generosity. His example will sustain us and always keep him close in our hearts. Memorial services will be held March 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at MCRD Chapel with a reception immediately following at Bay View Restaurant at MCRD. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the following Children's YMCA Summer Camp and Sharp's Hospital.
