Obituary Condolences

SILVERTHORN SARAH E. HOWARD Feb. 25, 1936 to Jan. 5, 2005 Sarah E. Howard Silverthorn went home to the Lord January 5, 2005 in San Diego, CA. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, graduated from Perry High School in Perry, GA and the University of Georgia. She taught high school English then became a flight attendant for American Airlines. She married Lt. Col. Russ Silverthorn U.S.M.C. in 1964 and lived in Camp Le Jeune, N.C., Bahrain and Camp Pendleton, CA. They have made their home in Del Mar for the past 35 years. Sarah was involved with the San Diego Chapter of the American Airlines Kiwi Club, the National Prayer Breakfast fellowship, was part owner of Silverthorn-Peed in Mission Valley and she attended the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon for 3 years. Sarah was a conduit of God's love, and always available to lend a helping hand. The world is a kinder place for her having been here. She was the complete fulfillment of Russ's life. Sarah is survived by her husband, Russ; a sister Margaret; niece Sarah and a grandnephew. A Memorial service will be held at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, 120 Stevens Ave. January 12 at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on January 19, at 2 p.m. following a memorial service at the Cedars, Arlington, VA.
