My deepest sympathy to Rosie and the entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Steve for many years at WPHL-TV on our Phillies telecasts. Those were wonderful times, and I have wonderful memories of Steve as well.

Dearest Rosie and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Stephen was so full of life and I thoroughly enjoyed knowing him. I am glad he is no longer suffering from the devastation wrecked on him by ALS as I am sure you are too. I hope time will ease the pain of your loss and you can remember all your wonderful times together. Love to you all. Bobbi Angel.

Although I only met Steve a few times, he had a very strong impact on me. I found him incredibly intelligent, insightful, and he had an undeniable charisma. I feel privileged that I got to know Steve through my mother. I am thankful for the time I had with him.

Dear Cousin Rosie and family, May God comfort you at this time of your loss. I keep you and your family in my prayers and you have my deepest sympathy!

I am so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. We were friends and colyricists in 1956-57 in Newton, Ma. We both wanted to be actors. It sounds like he came closer than I did. We lost touch when he went to private school and/or his family moved to DC. I saw his obit in the San Diego paper on March 1st and it brought tears to my eyes thinking of the days of our youth. All these years we lived so close to one another but we never knew. My profoundest sympathy to his family.

To Rosie Silverman: I just wanted to express my deepest sympathies for your loss. I know Steve was your "soul mate", and a wonderful father to David. Yeah, I remember the cigar smoke whenever you two came to family functions...may he rest in peace and take care of yourself, Rosie.

Rosie, Josh and David,
Your husband and father was a major part of my life. Even though we parted professionally our time together will always be remembered. Rosie, Steve loved you more than anything, he would always talk about you and the boys and how you met. Josh and David he was extremely proud of both of you and never missed an opportunity to share your accomplishments. May your husband and father rest in peace. In my day he didn't have much faith in religion or a higher order, I hope he either found peace or has God's compassion based on his compassion for others. All my love and prayers for you.

I have such fond memories of Steve. As a co-worker, he was both dedicated and determined to create a professional product for our customers. With his wide expertise in the field, there were times of frustration with management that he shared with me...never losing his sense of humor. As an average gamer, I never had a chance during the competitions between Steve and Caroline. I accepted their challenges though because I knew there would be many delightful stories to enjoy. I've never met a person that knew so much about so many topics; and had such a talent for sharing his experiences. You'll be missed Steve. My thoughts and sympathies to the Silverman family.

Sorry to learn of Steve's passing. He gave us our "look" at the Padres during the 80's when we brought everything in-house. My deepest sympathies to Rosie and his family.

After we both retired we continued our weekly "game day" meeting once a week, usually at my home. Steve was a fan of game competition (as am I) and we delighted in a good game of Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Gin Rummy, etc. But, we soon discovered that at least 50% of our game day was spent in good conversation and a lot of laughter. It is impossible for me to express how much I miss him.
