THOMAS ALCANTAR Obituary
ALCANTAR, THOMAS Carlsbad, CA - Tom, age 70, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 surrounded by his devoted family. Tom was born in Prescott, AZ. He completed military service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he later went on to work for Bourns Incorporated in Mexico where he met his wife, Susy. They settled and raised two daughters in Southern California. After 15 years of service, he retired from the County of San Diego. Shortly thereafter, Tom and his wife moved to Carlsbad, California where he lived for the remainder of his life. Tom is survived by his loving wife Susy, his two daughters, Cynthia Reed, and Silvia Stamp, his son, Richard Alcantar, and grandchildren, Brandon and Brooke Reed, and Keegan and Delaney Stamp. Although his cancer was a formidable opponent, it was no match for his sense of humor, intelligence and charisma. Tom was greatly loved and admired by friends and family alike. He will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Hospice of your choice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of Tom's life on September 6, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 2510 Gateway Rd., Carlsbad, CA 92009.
