Pat, please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Bill was a friend, mentor and and a Christian gentleman and he will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Both of you will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry my medical problems prevented me from celebrating Bill's life at the mass and speaking to you personally. When I read today's paper and saw that Judge Kennedy had passed, I felt both sorrow and joy. I am the widow of Judge Philip Sharp, who had the pleasure of presiding in the courtroom right next to Judge Kennedy. Over the years, they had such fun playing pranks on each other, Phil would enjoy going to work each day and wondering what they would joke about that day. Once, Phil had all the furniture removed from Judge Kennedy's office, another time we came home from a trip and our luggage was lost. Judge Kennedy wrote a very involved letter from "the airlines" telling us that our luggage had gone to Pakistan. They truly enjoyed each other's company and even though I often teased Judge Kennedy that he curled his eyelashes, he was always so much fun and Phil really enjoyed working with him. I am sure Phil is waiting to greet his longtime friend and has probably already hidden his halo. I will remember him fondly. Nanette Sharp

I had many trials before Judge Kennedy. He was always dignified and a true classic jurist in every way. He brought honor and dignity to the court.

I proudly served as a Deputy DA under Bill Kennedy in the 1970's and early 1980's. He was one of the main reasons I was proud to be a prosecutor, trying to emulate him and Dick Huffman and the other great trial stars of that era. He had a keen eye for what it took to get justice in the most difficult cases. Some of my favorite memories involve working directly with him on previously closed homicide files where he just wasn't willing to give up despite the passage of time. I loved his smile and the twinkle in his eye when he greeted you. I miss his humanity and his love for what we do as lawyers.
