William McEvoy Obituary
McEvoy, William 07/25/1928 ~ 09/02/2013 SAN DIEGO -- Bill passed away peacefully at home with family at his side. Born in Belfast N. Ireland, Bill, wife Nessa and their twin boys immigrated to San Diego in 1957, residing in Clairemont for 56 years. Bill worked as an engineer at Convair and later Sandaire, from which he retired in 1986. Bill enjoyed singing and playing music. His happiest times were spent around the piano with family and friends. Shortly after arriving in San Diego, Bill, along with some friends, formed a band and played at many local venues. After retirement, Bill and Nessa traveled extensively, visiting over 30 countries. He often commented on how lucky and blessed he was. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nessa; son Gary, Cindy and grandson Will; son Paul, daughter-in-law Tomi and grandchildren Kathryn, Andrew and wife Tabitha; brother Norman, wife Peggy and family of Canada; sister-in-law Margaret McEvoy and family of San Diego and extended family at home and abroad. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. His sense of humor and musical talent will be greatly missed. After a private inurnment at El Camino Memorial Park - Sorrento Valley on October 6th, a celebration of life will be held in Bill's honor. Please call 760-522-3461 for more information.
