DUANE FEYERHERM Obituary
FEYERHERM, DUANE (DEWEY) November 3, 1927 to May 23, 2011 Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and beloved friend. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War. As a successful entrepreneur, he owned several vacuum and appliance stores in the San Diego area until retirement in 1989. He was very active at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was a member for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 460 where he served many offices, most recently as Post Chaplain. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3788 where he served as a member of the Honor/Color Guard. Dewey was known for his sense of humor and attention to detail. He loved singing karaoke and was a very sweet, kind and generous man. Dewey was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his companion and dear friend Shirley, children Paula and Mark, grandchildren Jeffrey and Anna, great-grandson Adam, stepchildren Richard and Nancy, and siblings Vernelle, Phyllis, and Clifford. He was preceded in death by his wife Lena and stepdaughter Maria. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1370 Euclid Avenue, San Diego. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at VFW Post 3788, 7785 Othello Avenue, San Diego.
