Obituary Condolences

SMITH, JONELLE July 6, 1935 to July 13, 2011 Jonelle was born July 6th, 1935 in Milford, Utah to Clyde "Max" Baxter and Iona Cloward. She graduated from Milford High School and moved to Las Vegas, NV shortly after, then to the Los Angeles area, and eventually to San Diego. She gave birth to two beautiful sons, Bradley Frank and Gregory Paul. During the early-70's, she met her true love and her eternal best friend, Harold Derrell Smith. They were married January 30th, 1971. That day, she gained two more sons, whom she adored; Jeffrey Harold and Ronald Derrell Smith. Jonelle had an unparalleled love for music. She was a singer, a pianist, an organist, and a wonderful conductor. She was in a performing group called the Heritage Harmonies and sung with them all over San Diego county, including the Del Mar Fair. Jonelle and her loving husband traveled all over the world. Jonelle was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held numerous callings including Relief Society President, and San Diego Temple Worker. Jonelle also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needlepoint, and playing cards. She made each grandchild a crocheted blanket. She was also known by her inner circle and family as the best pie maker. She will be deeply missed by many. Jonelle left behind 11 grandchildren, five great-grand-children and many friends. She is survived by her bereaved, and eternal husband Harold Smith; sons Bradley Frank (Marie) Hopkins, Gregory Paul (Mary Lynne) Hopkins, Jeffrey Harold (Michelle) Smith and Ronald Derrell (Jodene) Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Mitchell, and nephew Todd. Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 22nd, 2011, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 6767 51st St., San Diego, CA 92120. There will be a Viewing from 10:00 to 10:45am.
