Angelina Lorraine Libro, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 6, 2013.
She was born July 23, 1934, the only child to Nicole and Santina (Palmisano) Bertolino, in Gloucester, Mass. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Libro, and nephew, Michael Libro. She was married for 47 years to Allan, who also preceded her in passing in 2002.
She is survived by their four children: Richard Libro, Nicholas Libro, Marina Libro and Santina (Sandi) Libro; her brother-in-law, Vincent Libro and sister-in-law Lois Libro, along with her many cousins, nephews, nieces and many, many friends, both from childhood and newly made.
She grew up in Gloucester and was a life-long resident. During their years together, she enjoyed traveling with her husband taking trips to places as far away as Vancouver, British Columbia, the Caribbean, Alaska and more frequently to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In her later years, she would winter at her daughter's home in Virginia and son's home in Florida.
The family would like to thank the care teams at TLC Homecare, VNA and Hospice of the North Shore, Addison Gilbert Hospital Oncology and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Oncology. A special thank-you goes out to Nikki Lane, her home health care aide, Vicky Wilson, her VNA nurse, Lisa Munoz, neighbor and friend of daughter, Sandi, and Wendy Mullett, friend of son, Nick. They all stepped in with kindness, respect and care to enable Angela to spend her final days in her own home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St Anthony by the Sea Chapel, East Gloucester, on Thursday, June 13th at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited.
