Charles G. Wistar

WILLIAMSBURG - Charles G. Wistar, 99, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on April 17, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean M. Wistar. After receiving his BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Mr. Wistar worked for the Aluminum Company of America. After a successful career spanning nearly 40 years from ALCOA. In 1977 he retired and moved with his wife, Jean, to Kingsmill in Williamsburg. Locally, he was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, and Crown Colony Club. He was a founding member of Kingsmill's Odd Lots and Kingsmill's Ball Hawks. He was also a volunteer starter for the PGA golf tournaments at Kingsmill for nearly 25 years, and enjoyed boating and golfing. He is survived by his son, Charles M. Wistar (Andrea Treat Wistar); daughter, Nancy W. Goodell (the late Robert L. Goodell); and grandchildren, Roger P. Wistar, Margaret G. Beach and Katherine Lane St. Clair. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3 at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185 or the , 4217 Park Place CT., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
