Emma "Jean" Jaynes

Emma "Jean" (Thompson) Jaynes, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 78.
She had been a resident of Williamsburg for 55 years, moving here from her childhood home in Farmville in 1958. She retired from Eastern State Hospital in 1988 after 23 years of service. In her retirement she enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, working with her flowers and plants and a variety of crafts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, T.O. Thompson, Jr.; her parents, Wallace and Margie Woodson; her sister, Katherine and brother, Merrill.
She leaves behind her loving husband of eight years, Jimmy Jaynes; her beloved children, Barbara Duke (Jim) and Terry Thompson (Evon); her step-daughter, Debbie Brown (Bo) and daughter –in-law, Cookie Thompson; ten grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Flora Bolt; and two brothers, Robert and Garland Woodson.
The family will receive friends noon-2 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg. A service will follow. Burial will be private at a later date.
