Evelyn Lashmit Clark

WILLIAMSBURG - Evelyn Lashmit "Polly" Clark passed away on February 3, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Williamsburg. She was born on December 12, 1921 in Forsyth, NC to the late Charles and Percy Lashmit. Polly was a longtime member of the Grace Baptist Church, and she loved cooking and word puzzles; also, in her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling, sewing, and reading. Her greatest love was for her children and especially the grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Walter E. Clark; five children, Carol Weatherman and her husband Mack of NC, Judy Hodge, Gary Clark, Randy Clark and his wife Lisa of TX, and Cindy Clark; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd R. Lasmit of NC and James D. Lashmit and his wife Kathy of TX; and sister, Phyllis L. McCoy and her husband Delbert of NC. The family would like to thank the staff of Spring Arbor of Williamsburg and Hospice Community Care for their support and compassion. A celebration of Polly's life will be held from 6PM-8PM on Wednesday, February 5 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6 beginning at 1PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home.
