Garland Lee Myers III, 69, of Williamsburg, passed away Jan. 7, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jean and Garland L. Myers Jr.; paternal grandparents, Mae V. and Garland L. Myers, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Lois and John E. Neff Sr.; and his grandson, Damian L. Taylor.
Garland served with the U.S. Navy
before beginning his career in the field of technology. He had previously worked as Vice President of Unisys. In his spare time, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, music, technology, playing cards, his gun club, and writing personal poems for family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Clark Myers; daughter Kimberly Leigh Taylor (John T.); and grandchildren, Rebeka L. Burns-Taylor; J. Timothy Taylor; Jessica E. Taylor, Troy P. Taylor and Justin D. Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at the Myers Home, 102 Ainsdale, Williamsburg. Interment will be held at a later date.
