John A. Rossland

John A. Rossland, 86, of Williamsburg, passed away Jan. 7, 2013 following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin, and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marylin.
Mr. Rossland was born and raised in the Cleveland area, graduated from Denison University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was an Air Force veteran, a Mason, and a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church in several locations, serving as a Deacon and Elder and active as a volunteer relating to building and grounds. John Rossland had a 30-year career as a sales and marketing executive in the corrugated packaging industry.
The Rosslands moved to Williamsburg in 1983 and served as volunteers in several departments of Colonial Williamsburg for more than 15 years. Mr. Rossland's avocations included wood working and travel planning, and the Rosslands were international travelers. He was also active in The Colonial Virginia Model A Ford Automobile Club.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 3287 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, 23188.
