June Wager

WILLIAMSBURG - June Wager, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2014, following a five year struggle with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Brooks and Florence Parker and her husband, Harry C. Wager. June was employed with and managed Capitol Loan Company in Williamsburg for over 20 years, and worked part-time for about 15 years for World Kitchen. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and growing orchids. She was also an avid animal lover, who was especially fond of cats. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be missed by her daughters, Stacy Wager (Jack van Leliveld), Shelly Wager (Bob Fischer) and Sheri Wager (Steve Farrell); and her grandchildren, Shara DeWald, Rachel Fischer, Haley Farrell, and Brooke Farrell. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. A graveside service will take place at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News on Tuesday, April 22 at 11:00 AM.
